GESELLIG AFRIKAANS SHORT LEARNING PROGRAMMES
Another group of students has just completed the Gesellig Afrikaans short learning programmes, presented by the Department of Afrikaans and Dutch, German and French. The two programmes (basic and advanced) are offered every semester, allowing students to acquire basic Afrikaans skills and learn more about South African culture. At the certificate ceremony, each student has to deliver a short speech. This event showcases how well the students can converse in Afrikaans after only fourteen weeks of class. Classes start in February and July every year.
