Dr Khothalang Moseli

Dr Khothalang Moseli is a Lecturer and Coordinator of the Disability Rights Unit. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Rights, with a dissertation titled 'Analysing the Legality of the Right to Development in South Africa'. His academic background includes a Master of Human Rights from the University of the Free State and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of South Africa. He has also completed advanced courses on the Right to Development and the Judicial Enforcement of Socio-Economic Rights in Africa at the University of Pretoria. His research interests encompass Human Rights, focusing on the Right to Development, socio-economic and disability rights, constitutionalism, Ubuntu and philosophy of law. His work is informed by critical engagement with epistemologies of the Global South, aiming to promote the dignity and rights of the poor, vulnerable and marginalised. Outside academia, he is immersed in Basotho cultural practices and enjoys Postola and Makoloanyane music. He is also a long-suffering but ever-hopeful supporter of the Kaizer Chiefs.
